Australia Post - Billmanager®

Billmanager® helps people manage their household budget by establishing an agreed amount for periodic payments with each of their billers and facilitating the distribution of the single payment to each biller account.

TPG is an equal partner in a joint venture with ServiceWorks Management (SWM), a consumer-marketing consultancy based in Melbourne. The joint venture company, ServiceWorks Technology (SWT) was formed to develop, sell and implement a unique, patented billing service called Billmanager®. TPG’s role has been to work with SWM in the development of the product concepts, to specify the technical aspects of the product and to develop an extensive software product to support the new service. We have also developed the full integration of Billmanager® with Australia POST’s online (Internet) and offline payment processing systems.

Billmanager® has been launched in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania and is being progressively rolled out through the rest of the country.

Computershare

TPG identified a niche opportunity in the electronic bill presentation and payment market and developed the ebusiness for enterprise™ product to take advantage of this opportunity. Over time TPG developed the product into a comprehensive electronic customer communications management platform. It was used by a significant number of major financial and document management organisations, including Salmat, National Australia Bank, Yarra Valley Water and South-East Water, providing web-based facilities for customer communications.

TPG’s ebusiness for enterprise™ product was one of the first products to be certified to provide BPAY View electronic document presentation facilities.

In 2004, TPG sold all rights in the ebusiness for enterprise™ product suite to Computershare Document Services, for use exclusively with their customers. Computershare Document Services has since rolled the product out internationally under its Global Viewpoint brand.

TPG continues to provide support to CDS in the ongoing development of Global Viewpoint.

NorthPower (now Country Energy)

TPG has considerable experience within the energy industry through its work with NorthPower (now Country Energy) and other energy retailers and generators, covering the retail, distribution, logistics, financial systems, works management and specialist areas such as energy trading and the meter data agency. The following projects were either delivered by TPG or had significant TPG staff involvement:

  • Project Management, business analysis and testing of a contestable billing system (for the deregulated segments of energy customers).
  • A very extensive customer debt management project which delivered annual savings in excess of $650,000 per annum from productivity gains alone. Significant benefits to the corporate cash flow were also realised. This system incorporated significant changes to the Billing System, the Customer Information System, and interfaces to the financial systems and external debt recovery agencies.
  • Project Management of a system to assist with estimating and managing infrastructure works, including contestable works.
  • Project Management, business analysis, enhancement (including rewrites to portions of the system) and testing of a meter data agency system product (for the deregulated segments of energy customers).
  • Delivery of a Distribution Assets Management System. This system facilitated management of planned asset inspections, record keeping and capture of information including digital photographs of assets transmitted from mobile workstations.
  • Development and delivery of modifications to the Billing System and Customer Information System to support the marketing and billing of “green energy” products.

Promina - APIA

Promina’s APIA insurance channel was looking to obtain a competitive advantage by making its insurance products more-accessible over the internet.

TPG worked with APIA to deliver an industry best web-site which allowed most car, home, boat, caravan and travel insurance customers to perform routine transactions over the internet. All transactions were performed by APIA’s existing back-end systems, ensuring complete integration with all existing back-end systems and processes. APIA was able to utilise state-of-the-art internet technologies to leverage their considerable investment in back-end processing systems.

APIA’s web-site was rated best Australian car insurance web-site by industry magazine Australian Banking & Finance for two years running.

Further, Promina wanted to be able to roll the web-site out under multiple brands and distribution channels. TPG’s solution was designed to provide easy re-configuration, allowing launch of the site under a new brand or through a separate channel partner in under two weeks.

Resimac

TPG developed a major web-based loan application system for Resimac Limited, a leading Sydney-based financial institution. This large development project involved use of the latest web-development technologies to allow remote access to the application system for mortgage originators.

TPG continues to support and enhance the system for Resimac, ensuring that it remains across the latest developments in the industry.

Key features include the ability to automatically approve and insure loans according to configurable pre-defined rules, a real-time external interface to credit reference providers, electronic document creation and management and work-flow driven processes.
